Before diving in-depth into the aforementioned title, I’d like to share a quote that I wrote, That is, “the credentials you earn in college pays you back throughout your life”. Before selecting a college, consider the following factors:
- Quality Education: If an institute has NBA and NAAC accreditation so we can say that the institute is offering quality education because these two Government bodies are responsible for assessment and accreditation for quality education in India.
- Laboratory: The laboratory is where knowledge is transformed into skill, and that skill makes you more employable. You must visit labs and request to run the machines. If the machines are operational, we can say that the institute provides both theoretical and practical knowledge.
- Interact with students: The existing and pass out students know institute from inside out and they can give you honest feedback about it.
- Interact with the Head of Department (HoD): As we know the HoD is the driving force of the department. The interpersonal skills and confidence of HoD reflect in the department. A smart and confident HoD makes the department vibrant and vital. So you must interact with the HoD. Once the Alexander the Great said that “I am not afraid of the army of lions led by a sheep but I am afraid the army of sheep led by a lion”. This implies that a leader is the backbone of the system.
- Placements: Students take admission in the educational institute for making their career in dream organizations. The training and placement cell plays an important role to make student’s dreams come true. You can ask the following questions in T&P Cell.
a) What is the highest package offered to students in the last three years?
b) What is the average placement of students in your organization?
c) How much package offers by the core companies
- Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: In 2016, the Government of India launched Start-up India policy for young professionals, the vogue for entrepreneurship is increasing by leaps and bounds. Our Prime Ministers Shri Narendra Modi encouraged youngsters to come forward and become job providers rather than job seekers.
Before taking admission you should visit in Institute Innovation Cell (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC). Meet with in-charge of the cells and ask about last three
year students achievements such as establishing new ventures and business.
