An Innovative Approach to Develop Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

  1.   Introduction

The engineering institute graduates comparatively have better ability to start a new venture due their technical and professional understanding than non-technical and non-professional institute. There are many technical and professional institutions are not much aware about the start-up / entrepreneurship facility available around us.

More than 65% graduate candidate (school/college/diploma) are unemployed because of required skill. If they prepare for company related skill than got high package. By the help of our organization candidates will enhance their skills. It can be possibly making such institutions and colleges the part of entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Government/ NGOs/ Incubation centres can run series of aware programs for engineering graduates and students in the collaboration engineering institute. Such aware programs can be run in online and offline mode.

Government/ NGOs/ Incubation centres can provide consistent support to upcoming entrepreneur right from the ideation or conceptualization stage to branding building. Also have hand holding program till business become profitable entity.

Proposed ecosystem also provide support to potential candidate of society whether they are not part of the any technical and professional institutions.

2.    Objectives.

The objectives of developing Entrepreneurial Ecosystem are as follow:

1.   To provide awareness among the youth regarding entrepreneurship and start-up opportunities.

2.   To promote and support to development of cottage industries / micro scale industries like tailoring unit, paper cup and jute bag making unit.

3.   To collaborate with outside agencies to organise education camps, seminars and workshops for promote education, training and hands-on.

4.   To establish hands-on training centres and organise various training activities for youth to make them employable according to industry demand

3.    Methodology

The following methodology can be adopted to develop Entrepreneurial Ecosystem:

1.     Conduct Awareness Camp:

To create awareness among the students, the conduction of awareness camp is the part of entrepreneurial ecosystem. Such camp/ seminar can be organised in the academic institutes such as schools and colleges in collaboration with incubation centres and industries.

2.     Identification Business Mindset:

The identification of business mindset of interested students is the most significance step toward the setup of entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this process team will try to identify the depth of knowledge and understanding of the students in the field of business and start-up. Team of expert will counsel and streamline their mindset before start the journey of entrepreneurship.

3.     Identification of nature of the Business

The identification of mindset of the business next step is finding the nature of the business he/she want to setup in his/her entrepreneur journey. Broadly the business can be classified as traditional or innovation-based business. Much guidance and support are required to setup innovative business so we can connect such highly skilled business with incubation centers supported by central and state government. The traditional business is basically required little documents and training but they need funding at beginning to start the business. We can connect such business with KVIC or DIC for PMEGP scheme.

4.     Assist in Business Setup

A new startup is required continuous and consistent support for proper functioning of the business in order to fulfil the need of the customers. They may need support in setup of the manufacturing unit, materials requisition and product development, establishment of supply chain. This support can be made available for startups through the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.

5.     Promotion, Marketing & Branding

Promotion, marketing & branding is become most essential step for a start-up to spread up the information about the product/ service to the customers. Entrepreneurial Ecosystem surely help to startups in business development.

4.    Major Task to be performed/ Activities/ Major Components

Following major task to be performed/ Activities such as:

1.     Running awareness camp among the students of technical and professional institutes

2.     Shortlist the interested students through interview or google survey.

3.     Identify their business idea / concept.

4.     Characterise the types of the business such as conventional or innovation-based business model.

5.     According to need of the business types, do preparation for proper training, business plan and funding arrangement.

6.     After setup of business provide marketing and promotion in social media and in market.

7.     Hand holding to the entrepreneurs until his business get establish or 3 years of business commencement.

5.    Outcomes of proposed model:

1.   The awareness will be created regarding the entrepreneurship among the youth living in the urban/ semi-urban/ rural area.

2.   The entrepreneurial ecosystem will be set-up in urban/ semi-urban/ rural area. Which is helpful in sustainable growth of entrepreneurs.  

3.   The training centres and business solution centres will be developed in different locations of MP.

4.   These incubated entrepreneurs will be helped sustainable growth of our nation.
